Frequently Asked Questions

Who can benefit from permanent cosmetics?

  • Active people with little time to apply makeup
  • People allergic to conventional cosmetics
  • People physically unable to easily apply makeup
  • Athletic people or those with oily skin who shed makeup easily
  • People with scars or other flaws in their skin or facial features
  • Permanent makeup is also used by cancer and alopecia (loss of hair) patients to create the look of natural brows or add colour around the eyes to offset eyelash loss
  • Anyone with a desire to look her best!
  • There are many different procedures we can provide. The most frequently requested procedures are eyebrows and eyeliner.

    Is the process safe?

Absolutely! The client's safety is our highest concern. All equipment is double sterilized (chemical and UV light) and needles are disposed of after each procedure. A patch allergy test is performed prior to the process to ensure the client's safety.

    Is it painful?

There is very little discomfort in most permanent cosmetic procedures. Many people describe the sensation to be much less than expected. A topical anesthetic may be applied.

    What if fashions change?

We recommend selecting a natural style that compliments your face. You can always add conventional cosmetics over your permanent colour for varying effects.

How will the appearance look over time?

The colour will soften over the years. The natural fading is preferred by most. If at any time you prefer colour enhancement, the cost is only a fraction of the initial fee.

    Are there any after effects?

The process causes mild, temporary irritation of the skin which usually subsides within hours. Redness and some swelling are normal but do not always occur.

    How long does it take?

Eyebrows and eyeliner procedures usually take anywhere from thirty to ninety minutes and might require up to two touchups, although in some cases none are necessary.

    How long does it last?

Permanent makeup can last for years or disappear quickly, contributing factors are:

  • Sun exposure
  • Products which promote cell regeneration (Petin-A, Renova, Glycolics or Alpha Hydroxy Acid)
  • Extra dry skin which flakes
  • Friction from upper eyelids can wear colour down over time
  • Thick or scarred skin that is resistant to pigment
  • Medications, extended illness, hormonal fluctuations, and radiation treatment can result in loss of pigment, especially during the healing period (usually four to six weeks)
  • How do I care for it?

Clients are advised to refrain from alcohol consumption, vasodilators and aspirin containing products (including ibuprofen and coumadin) for 2 days prior to their procedure to prevent bruising and bleeding.

Immediate and long term aftercare is essential to maintain colour, vibrancy and ensure proper healing. Therefore untiul all healing is completed, you will need to use a product that promotes the healing process.

For the long term, protection from the sun by either sunscreen or sunglasses will help to maintain the integrity of the colour and prevent premature fading.

The initial healing time is generally somewhere between 3 to 5 days, and colours completely heal into the skin over a period of 8-12 weeks.

Sloughing of the pigment trapped in the epidermis will occur in the first 5 days and what will be left is what is permanently in the dermis of the skin.

Lightening and softening of the colour will occur as the skin heals because the pigment is no longer at the surface, but is now under the skin and it is no longer vivid.

    How costly is the procedure?

Each procedure is as individual as the person. All processes include a consultation, patch allergy test and two application appointments.

    Eyebrows $250
Eyeliner $300 (top or bottom only $150)
    Beauty Marks $65
